Introducing the Best Damn List of True Crime Podcasts You’ll Ever Find

Last month, I posted a work-in-progress true crime list that’s admittedly limited. I am a self-confessed slave to the spreadsheet (Three cheers for conditional formatting!), and while I did my best to make that list as thorough as possible, it’s frustrating to try and convert my hefty podcast spreadsheet into a list of bullet-points. Its disorganization makes me itchy.

It was pissing me off. So much so that, after consulting with my best tech-friend, I switched web hosting providers solely for the purpose of gaining the ability to embed a spreadsheet in a blog post. Unfortunately, it took a week for my domain to transfer, which hindered my ability to post my aforementioned spreadsheet. But, we’ve weathered the storm, kids. And here I am with my fully searchable, sortable, comprehensive true crime podcast list!

Currently, I’ve sorted the 107 shows listed by topics covered, episode tone, and my (wholly subjective) average rating out of five based on eight aspects, including:

  • Writing
  • Story-telling
  • Production Quality
  • Logic-Based Reasoning
  • Subject Choice
  • Ability to Keep Interest
  • Persuasiveness
  • Inventiveness and/or Cultural Relevance

But, I’ve got big plans for this list. Big. Plans. Not to be dramatic, but I’m pretty sure this is my magnum opus. This is where I peak–it’s all downhill from here. I’ve spent maybe 40+ hours constructing this list in the last two weeks alone. I am continuously listening to and adding new shows.

And soon, you’ll be able to see what I’ve rated each show in the aforementioned qualities, as well as my notes for each show. You’ll (hopefully) be able to search by production company/podcast network or show hosts, and it will hopefully be an intuitive, aesthetically-pleasing experience.

And although this truly is–if I might say so myself–a dynamic masterpiece of a data table, it is also still a work-in-progress. There are still many shows for which I’ve yet to enter information. While I’m adding shows and their info regularly, I want to ensure that I actually *listen* to a good chunk of a show’s back catalog before I tell you how good (or bad) it is. And, my true crime job IRL can sometimes get in the way of my true crime doings on the internet.

The bottom line is that you absolutely need to keep checking back to see what I’ve added. And, if I’ve missed one of your faves–or if you disagree with my rating–you absolutely need to tell me about it! Leave me a comment here or contact me directlyI want to hear what you specifically have to say!

What are you waiting for? Check out my list and get a’searchin’, you rascal!
